I have bought from centre.net some 8 or 10 times now with no problems
I have had good service so far, with them coming up with the goods
ahead of time on two occasions.
The trouble with sites like shopferret is that it is a bit hard to
take them as 100% accurate, as you have no way of knowing if the
post, positive or negative are from genuine customers or not. It is
very easy for business owners or their competitors to post positive
or negative comments about their own/competitors companies. I have
just had a quick run through shopferret and came across one posting
from a business owner in response to a negative posting, who gave
himself 3 stars! I regard sites like these as being as accurate as
phone in polls.
Of the two negative posts, only one mentioned contacting the Office
of Fair Trading, but then did not mention what the result of the
complaint was. That poster also said that there was no confirmation
of their order. Every order I have placed has had a confirmation
email giving approximate delivery date.
I have no connection with centre.net (wish I had, I would probably be
better off financially and be able to get all my gear at wholesale)
and can only say what I have experienced
Have a look at B&h Photo & Video http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ and
Adorama http://www.adorama.com/ while shopping around. Just remember
that once the price goes over AUD 1000 (including the freight)
Australian Customs will want their slice and they even have the hide
to charge GST on the freight. Then again Singapore is nice this time
of year and their are plenty of waders to test out your new scope on
at Sungai Buloh.
