A Bassian Thrush has been visiting a garden in Cheltenham since just before
Xmas. The area has quite a few cool, shady gardens which should suit it.

A Striated Pardalote at Long Hollow Reserve, Beaumaris, on 30th December was
the first Bayside record for December or January.

And today there were two Whiskered Terns feeding in the bay close to the
shore in Brighton, a bit south of the marina. A small tern at Sandringham
Harbour on Boxing Day was probably the same species.

But most of my books say they are not coastal ...!?? Comments welcome.

Another New Year's Day surprise was a Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike feeding a young bird in my back garden.
