Same bird - depends whether you are a splitter or not.

Since the Richards Pipit super species / species occurs in Africa and all
over south Asia, as well as here and in NZ, a split makes sense to many.

Hi All,

I've always called the pipits we get in Australia, Richards Pipits.
However i just came across the term Australiasian Pipit (Anthus
novaeseelandiae) as opposed to  Richard's Pipit (Anthus richardi).

Do we have both Pipits in Australia?  Is one sedentary and the other
migratory?

Any info appreciated.
