On the theme of birds starting their Spring activities early...just down
the road from Ivanhoe in Alphington a pair of Brown Thornbills are
currently building a nest in a low branch of a cypress tree.

Blackbirds have been singing here in Ivanhoe (Melbourne) for a week or
so - and fighting each other as well. The number of
male birds seen as road victims has also increased.
