Blackbirds have been singing here in Ivanhoe (Melbourne) for a week or so - and fighting each other as well. The number of
male birds seen as road victims has also increased.

  Hi all,

Last week on the 18th July I heard a male Blackbird singing which
seemed to be very early. I am in Broadford in central Victoria. Has
anyone else heard the same this time of the year, expecially in
Victoria. It would be interesting know if Blackbirds and other birds
are begining their spring song earlier with global
  warming/drought/climate change a possible reason.
