Origin of the name cockatiel

I'm quoting here from the late Jim McDonald's book "The Illustrated
Dictionary of Australian Birds by Common name".

Cockatiel - popular name which became official in RAOU 1926; generally
used by aviculturalists  and possibly derived from old name given by
Gould as cockatoo parakeet; also recorded as derived from Portuguese
cacatilha or cocatehlo "little cockatoo".

Quarrion (spelling varies)  - see Cockatiel popular name from Aboriginal
source, frequently given by country people.

He makes no mention of Weiro.

Could anyone please shed some light on the origins of the names
Cockatiel, Quarrion and Weiro, all used in different parts of
Australia for Nymphicus hollandicus.  I believe that Cockatiel is
derived from a Dutch word, but don't know the details about that, or
anything at all about the origins of the other two names,
