Could anyone please shed some light on the origins of the names
Cockatiel, Quarrion and Weiro, all used in different parts of
Australia for Nymphicus hollandicus. I believe that Cockatiel is
derived from a Dutch word, but don't know the details about that, or
anything at all about the origins of the other two names,
thanks, Mike Owen Sunshine Coast Queensland =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
