Windfarms and Birds

Hi Birders,
I was under the impression that contrary to what Carl said about large birds 
of prey being able to avoid Wind Generators, that there was a real problem 
with Golden Eagles in North America and Europe and wind farms. Is anyone 
able to comment on this?
