Hi,
My very good ticks in the past are:-
Spoon-billed Sandpiper in Singapore (1999) and
Malaysia(2002). Both were totally unexpected in sites
with no previous records.
Nordmann's Greenshank in Malaysia (2002-2006) More
than 10 times 'intimate' encounter of this otherwise
very plain looking Greenshank.
Regent Honeyeater (2005) Carpetee Valley - Like golden
fairies flapping their wings just above my head.
Eastern Bristlebird (2005) Barren Ground - strutting 3
feet in front of me along the track.
My ultimate tick in the future will be:-
That little green parrot in the most remort interior
of Austalia.
Junin Grebe in Peru. 3 other one-lake-one-grebe
(Atitlan, Colombian, Alaotra) have become extinct
lately and we must stop this becoming the next victim.
Narcodam Hornbill in Andaman Island. A large bird
confined to a mere 7 km2 islet.
Endemics in remote Pacific islands, great scenary
also.
