There was also a mixed flock of swifts (around 40 total) over Upper Mt Gravatt in Brisbane at 8:30am today.  I was on my way to work on the bus, so I didn't have my bins to do an accurate count of forked tails vs. needletails, but I'm pretty sure both were present.

Chris

Dan Mantle and I spent a pleasant couple of hours at Sherwood Arboretum
(Brisbane) early this morning (5/1).
Brisbane had some rain overnight, and the sky was still overcast.
We had good views of White-throated Needletails (~40) and Fork-tailed
Swifts (~30) circling overhead.

Dan also spotted a Buff-banded Rail with 4 small chicks down near the
river.

Cheers
Mat
