5+ White-throated Needletail at Barren Grounds (S of Sydney) just before
sunset 21/12/05. Plus several Ground Parrots calling after sunset and
a number of Bristlebirds in good voice.

And spectacular views yesterday of two Square-tailed Kites which spent 15
minutes cruising over backyards at rooftop height where we are holidaying
at Broulee (NSW south coast). I've seen Square-tailed Kites here
I think every summer since 2000 and they seem progressively less wary
about hunting around houses. Maybe they are the forerunners of a new
suburban species.
