There have been 20-30 there through the winter.  I don't understand
why but they use it as an over-wintering site.  Fewer are present over
the summer.  In previous winters I have seen over 70 there.

Iron Cove is said to have some of the worst heavy-metal pollution found in
any Australian estuary so it may not be the heathiest location for them.
They are habituated to all the runners and walkers on the Bay Run so
you can tapproach them very closely.
