A further note; I've just past this information on
to state forests research, and was told that a young bird had recently been
banded in the area, plus ongoing research into both ninox and tyto owls (see http://www.faunatech.com.au/forum/powerful_owl.html )
Basically I think what I am saying is if anyone can
check this bird out, plus grab a feather, that would be great, but the
bigger picture is if anyone can collect samples from roadkill owls (yes I know
who unpleaseant this is) these can be used to further research into our
large owls. Note: a detailed location description is very
important.
Thanks,
Graham Turner
