dear chirpers
the device in question might have some trouble with our superb lyrebirds,
superb mimics that they are.
on saturday, we heard a male at kelly falls rattle through a medley of
scrubwren, thornbill, currawong, whipbird and builder hammering on aluminium
sheeting - all at top volume within a couple of metres of us. amazing.
(kelly falls is near Helensburgh, south of the royal NP, south of sydney)
as a fellow luddite, i personally think even using playback is cheating, except
for scientific purposes, but that's just me.
each to his or her own.
happy low-tech birding
