At one time ( late last year) there was a large number of Pied
Currawongs (about 20), including young ones that used to come to my
backyard to drink, then they all suddenly disappeared - not just from
my yard, but also from the general (coastal ) area.
Only one or two adults have stayed on fairly regularly until recently.
Now I find that there are hardly any currawongs around to be seen, and
only hear the occasional one calling, not every day.
Where have all the Pied Currawongs gone?
I have also seen references to Pied Currawongs flocking.
HANZAB VOL 7 will be a great help here, when it is finally published!
Any light on the matter of "possible disappearance" from the Northern
beaches areas of Sydney closer to the city, and on flocking, would be
appreciated.
