Follow on...
I, too, had a pair of Mynas pecking at a recently killed Rainbow
Lorikeet in the Eagleby area south of Brisbane several months ago. As
you described, Reg, they flew off the corpse as I approached and
returned before I could U turn. I took the corpse with me and dropped in
to some deep grass down the road. I thought it deserved a btter 'burial'
than being pulled to pieces in the road!
