Rod,

I haven’t read further to see if anyone has answered your question, but from past observation the answer is yes, white cheeked eastern can mate with a blue cheeked crimson. We had a “blue cheeked” Eastern Rosella visit our home in Garran, ACT.

Here at Point Lonsdale we frequently see such a 'pair' always flying and feeding together. Perhaps they are just good friends.
