And thank goodness for that!  Long-time subscribers will attest that there have been periods when nuisance subscribers using pseudonyms have made this list less than pleasant.  Many people still will not subscribe to this list because of the "rubbish" they encountered when they first joined it.

This was largely rectified by the "no pseudonyms" policy.  Mind you there are still quite a few (what I consider anyway) completely unnecessary postings on this list.  I'm sure some consider them quirky little (non-bird related) observations but (to my thinking) they are more akin to spam.  At least they are usually easily identifiable and can be deleted without having to read all of them.
