Hi Folks

I?m going to buy a digital compact camera (can?t afford an SLR) for a
project unconnected with birding. However I thought I could kill two birds
with one stone and buy a camera I can also try digiscoping with.

It seems that the Nikon Coolpix 4500 is the recommended digital compact
camera for digiscoping. Is this still the case, have any rivals emerged in
the last few months?

[Best price I?ve found for this model so far is $880].

Cheers

John L
