We're at Sinnamon Park in Brisbane's West and over the past 8 years, large tracts of remnant bushland have been cleared for housing development around us. We have noticed a few things in relation to TC behaviour over that time:
- nest sites have become more obvious and less out of the way by usage of trees in gardens etc
- TC's are observed daily in the vicinity of our garden and surrounding neighbours doing checks of garden shrubs & trees, one assumes checking for nests. Willie Wagtails constantly add their two-bits worth during this behaviour. TC's twice destroyed SB Fairy Wren nests in our garden before egg laying had commenced.
- I have seen them take young from Noisy Miner nests and woke one morning with 3 juvenile TC's plucking a newly killed Spotted Turtle Dove (fully-fledged juvenile, well out of the nest)
- Young TC's have taken a liking to Lorikeet Mix

regards
