Has anyone managed to get this to run under Windows? It won't create the default install directory or any other one that I try?

Incidentally I have developed a database using Visual Basic and MySQL that I am prepared to let anyone have who is interested in it - email me direct. Can't compare it to J-bird as I can't install J-bird yet (am in the process of getting a user name on SourceForge so I can report the bug, but it takes time) but may try and roill my ideas into J-bird or vice versa if they seem appropriate

Not sure if anyone is aware but there is a free birding database program available for download, J-Bird.

It is a Java open-source beta program for Windows, Linux or Mac, I've installed it and tried it out and must say it looks OK (.... if you can get your head-around the unusual lay-out.)

It can be downloaded from here http://sourceforge.net/projects/j-bird/

and a Users Guide is available from here http://j-bird.sourceforge.net/uguide.html

Hope someone will find it useful,

Tom Tarrant
