A lot of interesting comments from South Coast NSW to QLD on the silence of
the Whipbird.

It seems that they are still vocal up north but have gone quiet in the
central parts of the coastal area. 'Mine' has definitely gone quiet which
was easy to observe as he usually spends most of the day in bushes about 5m
from my office door and is never quiet- so the silence quickly became
apparent. He's definitely still here and makes the occasional choo choo but
that's all.

One evening a while back I heard him scolding and there he was inside my 4wd
having flown in the back window!
