Following two nights of fairly strong winds here in Adelaide,
I saw a single nominate "Port Lincoln" Australian Ringneck
this morning (Friday, 6th June 2003) in some gum trees
surrounding the Adelaide Aquatic Centre in North Adelaide.
HANZAB suggests that the occasional sightings of this form
in Adelaide are presumably escapees but I mention the record
anyway.
Incidentally, Israel has just had its first ever record of a Franklin's
Gull
in the last few days. There seem to be quite a lot of them turning up
in strange places in the last couple of years. Hopefully this doesn't
mean anything bad about their "normal" range.
