Went out to Gellibrand Park, Tullamarine yesterday morning with a couple of
Texan guests. It got very hot very quickly, but saw some good birds. A pair
of juvenile Brown Goshawks were extremely vocal, a pair of Red-capped Robin
were kept frantic keeping up with the food demands of three young close to
fledging, and Tree Martins seemed to have colonised and be feeding young in
every small hollow. Other birds of note were Crested Shrike-tit, Rufous
Whistler, and Red-rumped Parrot, all ticks for Bob and Jerry. Hopefully the
fire at Woodlands, mentioned on the news today, stayed at the other end of
the park.
