I suggest that you look at Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife's web page on foxes at
The map on this page shows that foxes are now spread across northern Tasmania, and frankly I think that it will take a miracle to stop them at this stage.
The Tasmanian authorities have set up a Fox Taskforce and are making a determined attempt to control the foxes. 
The Commonwealth Government's contribution of $440 000 speaks volumes about their commitment to the environment on a timescale beyond the election cycle.

There was an excellent  show on the ABC last night, one of Richard Morecroft's specials, about the foxes in Tasmania. It was good to see this issue being given some further public airing. Hopefully it is being taken seriously by people who can effectively deal with the problem. What has happened in terms of eradicating this problem in Tasmania?
