g'day all,
Yesterday I saw 75 (approx) B-t N-h at a rarely visited bay on
the western side of Lake Moondarra.
On the way in I saw 10 of a possible separate
group.
Of the 44 species In recorded there was one Wood
Sandpiper and 3 Swinhoe Snipes.
The snipes were at the edge of the lake in open country -
one dabbling, one preening and the third just contemplating
the meaning of life.
This is the first year that I have seen the Snipes in
open country... usually they remained hidden in short reeds until
flushed.
(I might add that it is the visiting experts who identify
the Snipes at the Isa as Swinhoe's)
