Hi
A very quick seawatch at Hastings Pt, northern NSW (approx 40 mins
north of Byron Bay) yesterday (Sunday 25th), produced a Pomarine Skua (dark
ph) heading steadily north, while a Sooty Oystercatcher fossicked among the
rocks - not sure if either of these are worth noting, but maybe someone out
there is interested...............................? I also saw, but didn't
have time to specifically identify, a tattler sp. on the headland.
While I'm here!! Could I request, most humbly, that when everyone is
putting bird lists, sightings etc in this message forum that they, briefly,
include some detail as to where they are talking about? I am a recent
subscriber and really enjoy reading about other people's daily/weekend
outings and sightings, but sometimes I almost have to identify the area from
the birds listed!! Maybe things like 'north western Victoria' or, '100 kms
south of Sydney' or whatever!
I, for one, would really appreciate it, thankyou.
And, thankyou as well, to those of you who took the time to reply to
my request, a couple of weeks ago, for a second hand 'scope. I am now the
proud possessor of a Meade 107D Spotting scope/mirror lens as of Saturday,
hence the seawatch above! I do appreciate the time and effort you took,

Colin
