Black-Tailed Native-hen irruption

g'day all,

Bill Jolly posted a note yesterday (25/11/01)..that included
"... A Black-tailed Native-hen popped up at Oakey on Friday, another local example of the recent irruption of these birds"

It is several years since I saw 4 B-t N-h in the Isa area (at the western shores of Lake Moondarra)

But several weeks ago 5 B-t N-h arrived at our Sewage Ponds.

Last week Darlene Kneen and I observed them at 3 locations along the Dajarra road (151 road kms south of Mount Isa)

They were all Cattle Station dams or tanks

We counted 24 of them at Cat dam which is about 20km from Dajarra.
