There was just a puff of green feathers and a feeble squark and it was all
over for a fledgling Red-rumped Parrot as it was hooked up by the talons
of.....probably a Brown Falcon, and this was just a few metres from where I
was standing. The young parrot had recently emerged from a nest in a hollow
fence post.

Two days ago I saw a Little Eagle try to land in dense eucalypt foliage
where there was a Weebill's nest, but the raid apparently failed and the
baby Weebills are still being fattened up by mum and dad, ready for the next
takeaway customer.

Oh yes, and two weeks ago on Coco Creek I watched a Brown Goshawk on the
ground, plucking the neck feathers from a very freshly killed Tawny
Frogmouth.
