Hi John and All,

Should be about $25 plus postage, from Birds Australia shop, phone 03 9813
5488 or email <> It is a lovely CD with 57 tracks
(species) and top quality.

For anyone else interested in listening to recordings of Australian bird
calls, the main way to access these is via commercial CDs and tapes.
However there are a few free samples available for download from the web
sites of commercial recordists e.g.

www.naturesound.com.au

www.listeningearth.com.au

The National Sound Archive (UK) has many recordings of Australian species,
their on-line catalogue of wildlife sounds can be viewed at

http://cadensa.bl.uk

but internet access to the actual sounds is not possible at this stage (I've
just checked). However, a new project by NSA will eventually make available
for download 4000 British wildlife sound recordings.

Does anybody know the extent of bird recordings available for free download
from the Cornell (USA) web site?
