Giday All,
last Thursday (31/5) I was at Kooragang Island (Stockton Bridge
section) and was amazed to see 150+ Red-necked Avocets roosting with
120+ Curlew (and one Whimbrel). Both of these numbers seem high, I've
seen a few Avocets here from time to time, but never more than 20 or so,
can anyone shed some light on this please. Maybe it a seasonal thing??
And the Curlews, are these ones that have missed the bus north or are
they just late in leaving.

Any comments welcomed.
