Regarding Philip Veerman's sighting of Brown Treecreeprs in unusual habitat, I have seen them in quite tall Spotted Gum Forest with fairly dense understory at Richmondvale (west of Newcastle, NSW). I was surprised to see them foraging in this denser habitat on the trees.
