  Birders,

On friday, 9th feb. I saw one yellow wagtail on Ash Island, Newcastle, N.S.W.. The yellow wagtail was seen on ash island which is approx. 15km's north of Newcastle on the New England Highway. The bird was seen on the gravel road which splits the ponds on the island. It was seen next to the 2nd set of telegraph poles from the noth end of the road. The Yellow Wagtail was seen here last year in the same spot. The two ponds are located next to the railway lines. It was seen with two pipits and a willie wagtail. I saw it twice in the same spot during the hours I was there.

      Steve Roderick.
