Hi everyone

Ian Fraser's comments on Gang Gangs prompted me to ask if anyone else is seeing these birds in places they are not usually seen. They seem to be all over Geelong at the moment - which I like, as they are in my 'favourite bird' category. We also have them out at Geelong Grammar Corio campus - first time in at least 10 years. At first there were only 4 or 5, now there are more than 20. They have been around for about 3 weeks now, following various flowering eucalypts. Do GGCs follow *each other* - i.e. is my observation typical? A few birds find a 'good Gang Gang spot' and others turn up to enjoy it as well? Please excuse my anthropomorhpic interpretation!

Russell

PS A colleague of mine went for several months thinking these birds were called 'Gang Bang Cocaktoos' -and even told her students this. Not sure how she explained it though.
