You forgot 'chur' as in 'Ugh!' and 'chug' as in 'bug'.  Most people use the
'chuff' pronunciation, after the European species which is superficially
similar (although with a red beak and no white on the wings) but no close
relative.  Another example of the complete lack of imagination in naming
Australian birds as well of the inexplicable failure to use existing
Aboriginal names.
