I've chosen aesthetic rather than fundemental hightlights -
these include:

* Walking in through Mangroves to see an Osprey's nest -
only to discover I was surrounded by a number of shark and
ray (Magnetic, Qld).

* Having an Olive-backed Oriole set up residence in my
small back yard (Melb - Northcote, Vic).

* Staying at a holiday house in Wye River and having a
family of Rufous Bristlebird share our lodgings (Vic).

* Putting up with the calls of Bush-stone Curlew night
after night while staying at Magnetic Island (Qld) - four
of them roosted only a few feet away!

* Banyule Wetlands 1999 (Melb, Vic).

* Townsville Town Common (Qld).

Happy NYE,

Tim
