Hi again BA people,

As part of my studies I have been colour banding juvenile Brown
Falcons at the Western Treatment Plant, Werribee and also the
adjacent Avalon Airport. There are now over 55 juveniles and 1st
year immatures banded in this region which will be soon leaving for
new areas.

This years young have a metal service band on the right leg and a
single colour band on the left. If you happen to see a banded Brown
Falcon can you please notify me via e-mail or the address below
with appropriate details such as location, habits (eg in a flock of
juveniles, breeding adult etc), sex and colour of bands.

I also have over 3/4 of the adults banded at these sites. So if you
happen to be in the area and see one I would also like to hear from
you. Adults are banded with 2 colours on the left leg and one
colour over a metal band on the right. It is important to notice the
order of colours (top to bottom) on the left leg.

Sorry to keep harping on this, but recoveries are going to be very
interesting (hopefully!). I expect some birds to start turning up in
Tassy.

Cheers,
Paul
