Good point Michael. A recent article in the The Age noted
that the Latter Day Saints homepage has a million
(1,000,000!) 'hits' a day - mainly by genealogists.
I assume the reason that the birding.aus homepage is not
visited more regularly is because the birding.aus
listserve is the central focus.

As you mention, it does have excellent resources, for
example I often use the archive as a reference source. I
wonder how it compares with comparable web sites in
Australia - such as the Birds Australia homepage - and is
this reflective the popularity of bird watching?
