Hi all, I put a message out this morning but it seems to have gone adrift,so here goes again.Saturday 17th of April, approx. 50 kilometres east of Southport Qld.and the last "chumming" site for the day,the birds listed are not totals but just for this spot.
  • Tahiti Petrel - 11
  • Providence Petrel - 20
  • Great winged Petrel - 2
  • Black Petrel - 1
  • Wilson's Storm Petrel - 20
  • Wedge tailed Shearwater - 1
  • Flesh footed Shearwater - 1
The Black Petrel was the first to arrive then kept pretty much to itself and is to be sent to B.A. appraisal committee.Several people including regulars were astounded by the close-up views of Tahiti Petrels as they more than held their own with the larger petrels squabbling
for fish and offal at the stern of the vessel. For those interested the next pelagic is on 22nd of May.Contact, Paul Walbridge,
