The problem with that is that most Myna species (maybe all) occur in the
part of the world in and around India, so Indian Myna is not a very
definitive (useful) name on a broader scale for just that species. I think
the name Miner for a group of just Australian honeyeaters is more of a
problem than is Myna, which is used all over even if they do sound similar.
There is confusion there. Aren't Noisy Miners what we get at industrial
disputes at mines? No I'm not suggesting a change.

Subject: birding-aus myna names
I always knew the Common Myna in NZ as the Indian Myna. Would calling
it this help the situation?
