I spent a week on KI in feb 98 and the ranger at Flinders Chase told me the most recent sightings of Glossy Black Cockatoos, which were at Stokes Bay. Take the track leading down to Stokes Bay, on your right you'll see trees protected with metal plates around them to protect the hollows from possums. On the edge of the forest on your left (near a paddock) is where we found them. Also saw a platypus at the viewing area in Flinders Chase, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper at Murray Lagoon, Purple-gaped Honeyeaters along Breakneck walking track (Flinders Chase) and a flock of White-throated Needletails ahead of a wheather change here (not common at all in SA). Crescent Honeyeaters all over the place.
