John, By leaving an extinct introduced species on the Australian checklist, too much emphasis is placed on the factors that caused it's extinction, as opposed to those factors that cause the extinction of a native species. Unless the same factors that cause an int. species to snuff it also detrimentally affect native species, then I think that they are of little relevance. Living int. species stay on because their affect on natives can be seen, but once they're gone, I still say remove them. And no, they shouldn't be treated as natives, because they are never benign.
