Dear Colleagues,
Please join us for "50 Years of Underwater Bioacoustics", a one-day symposium honoring the long and illustrious careers of Drs. Richard R. Fay and Arthur N. Popper. This one-day event will take place at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, FL on May 25th, 2013.

Registration is available at:

http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e6trnxblfa243f73&llr=5gdcmslab

Rates are as follows:

·      Early registration (before 4/1/13) $325

·      Late registration (after 4/1/13) $375

·      Students and postdocs $200 (late registration $300)

·      Reception only $75 (late registration $125)

The registration fee includes coffee breaks, lunch, and the evening reception.

The symposium will feature presentations, an afternoon poster session, and an evening reception. Abstracts for short afternoon talks or poster presentations are now being accepted on the conference website:

http://faculty.washington.edu/sisneros/PopperandFaySymposium.htm

You do not need to be affiliated with Fay or Popper to put in an abstract!  All with an interest in underwater bioacoustics and its applications are invited.

Additional meeting information, including hotel and travel arrangements, are also on the website.

Please encourage your colleagues and trainees to register – we want to make this an exciting and open scientific event.  We have limited funds to help offset student and postdoc registration and travel.  Interested students and postdocs should submit a CV, copy of their symposium abstract, and letter of supportfrom their mentor to Allison Coffin Travel awards will likely not be decided until around the time of the event.

Please contact Allison Coffin with general questions about the symposium or David Mann ) for hotel or registration questions.  We look forward to seeing you in May.

Regards,

Allison Coffin
