I thought Qld was the cane-toads in the old State of Origins; NSW were the cockroaches. I well recall the NSW mascot, dressed as a cockroach, running up and down the side of the footie field, back in the days in which sport was not quite so corporate and po-faced. So the ibis was clearly from centennial park

G’day John

I remember seeing a white ibis missing about with a cane toad that was twice the size of its skull. It was tossing the toad around by a leg.

Obviously it would be impossible for the ibis to swallow the toad whole, so I figured it might be trying to break a leg off …
