This I s not my observation is the observation of the guy who runs the accommodation I’m staying at on Christmas Island. He says that he’s noticed Island Thrushes in his backyard hopping around finding very small red crabs and meticulously picking all the legs and claws off the crab before swallowing it whole. I don’t know whether this behaviour is ever been noted before but I just thought I’d post it here.
