We had a pair of CBC’s come through out front of our house (on Lake Macquarie, NSW) on September 3, but have heard nothing since.
A friend about 3 kms down the road sighted his “first for the season” last Sunday (sept 12).
The Koels usually arrive here about two weeks after the CBC, however last year they didn’t arrive till mid October.
Nature is a very interesting thing……………….

Alistair,
My wife and I have a (largely friendly) competition each year to hear the first CBC (Turramurra, NSW). She asserts she heard it on Tuesday morning of this week.
Over the last decade or so they have been fairly consistent arriving between 10 September and 17 September.
The Koels are often a little later. Not heard yet this year.
Regards
