Hi Bill

They go well south of Melbourne. They like the bigger forests, Little Raven more open farmland. They occur at places like Phillip Island & Walkerville & much of Gippsland and alpine areas. Aussie Ravens are rare in the Melbourne area though, I don't think I've had one in the metro area in about 50 years of birding around Melbourne, Little Raven are the dominant Corvus here.-Kevin Bartram

Hi all, Bill here again

On the weekend I stayed at Wonga Park on a scout camp. Both mornings there
was a distinct and loud Australian Raven calling in the area. I'm not
familiar with many sightings of Aussie Ravens south of (maybe) Bendigo.

Is this unusual? How often do they come this far south?
