Thanks Mark, Appreciate the suggestion of a different approach. I'm staying near Healesville and have earmarked Badger Creek, Banyule Flats, Jehosophat Gully, and Cranbourne Botanic Gardens as places to go, within easy distance. That left me 2 days plus travel
to the Airport for an afternoon flight and Chiltern was suggested to me. Don't fancy Werribee for this year although I'm sure it would be good. I just spent time at Broome and have shorebirds up to my eyeballs.
I'm not after anything special, I like to get as many different Species each year as I can so anything not found in WA or N QLD would be the priority.
Whereabouts are you these days? Do you still get back to WA?
Cheers - Maris.

Subject: Chiltern or not?
Hi Maris,
I would not necessarily travel to Chiltern - especially this late in the season. You might have a more productive time circling Melbourne (counter clockwise) from Bendigo, Melton, Brisbane Ranges, You Yangs, Werribee, Torquay, Bunyip NP, Dandenongs, Healsville
area. You'd end up with a wide range of habitats and species mostly within about 90 minutes of Melbourne.
What are you after and I could perhaps refine my suggestion.
Regards
Mark Stanley
