They have been in the northern suburbs of Sydney for at least a week. Heard a few and saw a pair on Thursday. It always amazes me that we get them first!

Yes, I heard one in the southern suburbs of Brisbane a couple of days ago, which normally means that someone in NSW heard them a week or two ago, given that the earliest arrivals tend to be the ones who go to the deep south.

Greetings,

I heard my first Chanel-billed cuckoos for the season this morning at about 6 am. It sounded like two or more birds. Later I heard a single bird calling at about 0620. This is by far the earliest I’ve recorded them in Yungaburra.

Regards,

Alan
