For similar reasons, I’d suggest Capertee Valley. In October most of the summer
migrants are back and you’d avoid the peak summer heat, there's lots of
breeding and singing in progress, and Sept-Oct give the best chance for Regent
Honeyeaters.
Actually, I think you’d find many Australian locations ideal in October. This
is why so many birding tours from overseas visit in or around that month.
